Mari Carmen came to live at Esperanza Viva Youth Home-Puebla in 1997. As a teenager, she was part of the youth group worship band and went through our Summer Intensive program in 2006. In 2010, she left her native Puebla and joined the team at Esperanza Viva-Matamoros. She is currently serving as the young boys’ supervisor and is in charge of organizing meals for the children and staff at the home. She is studying to be a teacher at a local university. Mari Carmen is passionate about education and desires to instill this in others. She has shared that her own experience of growing up at Esperanza Viva and then going on to live on her own, have taught her that life is about much more than earning a living, but about being a change and giving of yourself freely to be an example to others. Mari Carmen is a mature young woman with a heart to serve God and a great sense of humor.
